No início, quando era apenas uma loja de congelados e comércio de vinhos, os amigos se reuniam nos fins de tarde para relaxar e conversar. Não demorou para que os acompanhamentos improvisados dos vinhos degustados fossem substituídos pelos dotes culinários de algum dos presentes, em geral o churrasco. A roda de amigos aumentava e incentivava. O espaço não era grande, mas a idéia do restaurante foi crescendo e sendo formatada em cima das preferências dos amigos que davam as dicas de todo tipo, buscando a excelência dos pratos, trazendo novidades e testando a cada encontro. E logo alguns cômodos da ampla residência foram adaptados para receber as mesas e cadeiras da Vinería Gran José.<br />
Hoje, com 70 lugares, a Vinería oferece um amplo cardápio de peixes e carnes grelhados feitos na parrilla , massas e uma carta de vinhos que agrada aos mais exigentes apreciadores da boa mesa, sempre buscando o custo benefício dos clientes. Desde o início as expectativas que eram de ser um espaço para receber amigos foi superada e o restaurante vem se destacando como um dos melhores oferecendo o sabor das parrilas dos hermanos com o atendimento e qualidade que o povo gaúcho tem ao bem receber não deixando de ter espaço ao novo e as boas novidades e pratos mais elaborados da cozinha internacional.<br />
